I mean, it's coming together but at the same time, like, we've seen an issue of the contact rates collapsing and the ground ball rates are really causing the issue.
There's been points in his career where the launch angles have been inconsistent, but again, 41% ground ball rate last year was playable.
Strikeout rate has kind of ballooned up to 29%, and the contact rates have dipped substantially.
Approach still looks good, but 71% contact rate from a SEC bat in hides doesn't do a lot for me.
Like, you know, I mean, you can look at the 13% walk rate and the 28% strikeout rate, but when you factor in the fact that he swings 40... like, less than 40% of the time, um, th- that, those sort of numbers sort of do take a little bit of a dip in my mind.
Um, so yeah, I mean, I expect more from a 22-year-old in high A who was playing in the SEC.
So Ethan Fray, I don't think there's anything, like, quote, "wrong," I think you can still see the upside there.
