Send us Fan Mail In this episode of *Choosing Chaos*, Stephanie shares her journey to becoming a single mom by choice to twin boys and how…
You were, you talked briefly about the survival mode after the boys were here.
What surprised you the most about taking care of them in the newborn stage? the
newborn stage, how relentless it was.
I mean, it's not relentless for everybody because some people have babies that sleep and eat and do all the things.
these babies wouldn't sleep.
As hard as I tried to get them on a schedule, it never happened.
I remember taking notes about like when they were eating, when they were pooping, when they were sleeping.
And I'm like, why am I bothering? I mean, I just couldn't get into this rhythm, you know? It was really, really, really hard and I was perpetually sleep deprived.
Everybody kept saying it's gonna get easier and easier.
And it was amazing because it does.
Like the first few days or weeks are completely impossible.
And then you get like, a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel and it just gets easier, gradually easier and easier.
And I still continue to see it now that they're almost eight.
And then I guess the teenage years is when it goes all downhill again.
great.
Things to look forward to as a mom of a boy who doesn't sleep.
I feel like, and I've said this before on the podcast, I feel like it's a boy thing.
I feel like boys are just such busy bodies that they really can't turn off their mind.
And this is probably not all boys, but certain boys, they just can't turn off their mind and sleep well at night because I've tried.
everything to get my little guy to sleep and so I can completely relate and we were doing better for a while and now we're back to the reverse but I blame it on the two-year molars you don't
co-sleep right
no we don't co-sleep we did have to the other night because he had a little bit of fever and when he was up every hour I was like at this point you're just coming in bed with me because maybe you'll just sleep better that way I feel
like it's a
double-edged sword
yeah yeah did you end up co-sleeping No, no.
