You think if you stopped dieting, you'd eat everything in sight, don't you? Ice cream for breakfast. Chocolate for dinner. That whole packet of biscuits. In this episode of Chatting with Cara I'm…
So, the big one, the one that I get asked all the time, and what I see is, it's, well, is intuitive eating allows you to eat whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want.
And if I was allowed to do that, I would eat everything.
So it's got this, um, preconception that intuitive eating, like you can eat whatever you want, how much you want, whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want.
And for people who don't trust themselves, they're going, "Oh, I'm just gonna eat everything.
I'm just g- not gonna stop because sometimes I don't feel like I've got a full bottom.
I've got a bottomless pit of a stomach." And let me tell you, it is not like that at all.
Yes, you can eat whatever you want, however you want, when you want, but you're not gonna do that.
We're all ladies.
We're all like ladies of a certain age.
You at the moment have free will.
You could eat ice cream if, for breakfast if you wanted to, but you don't, do you? You literally don't.
You could eat...
You could have champagne for breakfast.
There, there's a thought.
But you don't, do you? No.
So this thought that go, "Oh, I can just, just unlimited have whatever you want," intuitive eating doesn't work like that because what intuitive eating does, it teaches you the framework for you to make informed decisions about food and about your body.
And it's built around trusting yourself, listening to yourself, and also giving yourself what it needs, and that might be leaving a bit of food on your plate because you're full.
Revolutionary, I know.
It might be having a bit more pasta because you're still hungry.
I know.
It might be having a snack just before you leave work because you know you're gonna be ravenous when you get home, and you always overeat when you get home.
That's the sort of stuff I'm talking about.
That is the stuff that actually is like y- you, you can eat everything, but you, you won't want to.
You won't want to just eat chocolate all day.
You won't want to just eat, um, protein all day.
