If school helped shape what you believe about your intelligence, can you change that story as an adult? In Part 2 of our conversation with Asher Kure, we move from the classroom to the learner, the…
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, that's actually incredible because actually you've talked about going above and beyond where like learning itself, you know, is not just a skill.
It's just so many things are attached to learning, you know, even the way your mind is structured.
So based off on not many people knowing this information, how much human potential are we losing every day from not knowing this?
The trajectory I was on, I mean, the journey, the path on which I started out as a child did not lead directly to where I am today in terms of the work I have done and how important it is, the solution.
A child who is underperforming in class is not that person that is going to be given to deep work and this kind of research eventually.
So this goes to say that the average person who is underperforming, unless they get helped, they are going to achieve less than they are capable of.
So it is important that we don't just enroll students in schools, but we expose them to orientation, the kind of orientation they need to have a balanced understanding of their own intelligence, to appreciate their own intelligence correctly, right? Because a lot of these students don't know that they are smart and they don't know how they are smart.
So, It's just a question of letting them know that you just need to put some effort and you would be exactly the way you want to be in terms of your grades and your performance.
Now, so very importantly, I'd like to mention that it makes no sense that even though teachers are adults, they get trained to teach.
But learners who are younger people, very, very inexperienced, never get a lesson on how to learn.
The average learner never gets a clear lesson or a clear lecture or a clear explanation of exactly how his brain works and how he can utilize it.
Like an explanation that has scientific clarity, right? And this should not happen.
I think the ministries of education across the world to start thinking of exactly how to coach learners.
Yeah.
