Colin Doyle, Acting Mayor, has come in to discuss last night's City Council meeting

in her absence, and I chaired the meeting last night, and

So you were the, uh, top dog last night.

I guess you could say that.

[laughs]

[laughs] So, uh, how was it?

Yeah.

Like, I mean, uh, again, because she never is away, a lot of you guys don't get that opportunity to chair.

So would you be, have been the first?

Uh, I would've been the first this term.

This term, yeah.

Um, I know that last term, um, in the, in Mayor Faris's absence, I know that, uh, Deputy Mayor Budds had, had chaired a, a meeting or two.

I, I don't know, uh, exactly how many off the top of my head, but this is a first for this term.

And, uh, and it was interesting, you know.

I sat down in the chair, and the first thing I said is, "Oh, so this is what the whole room looks like."

[laughs]

Um, so it was kind of neat.

Uh, a couple of blunders along the way, just kind of procedural things.

Um, you know, as, as a counselor, you sit there, and there's certain, um, cues that you listen for to know when it's your turn to speak, et cetera.

And so last night it was just a situation where I was the one, um, saying the mayor's words, and so I lost my spot a couple times 'cause there was nobody giving me cues.

[laughs]

[laughs] Diane's usually pretty good at that.

Well, and you know what? Uh, Diane and Nicole, they helped keep me on track-

... and so I appreciate them very much.
