Capable & Worthy: Fitness, Nutrition, & Mindset for People Who Don't Want Life to Suck
Sep 7, 2026 · 1 hr 1 min · 12 segments
In today’s episode, we’re catching up on where we are in life, health, fitness, and our current goals - and, unsurprisingly, life has not exactly been smooth sailing. Iris is in the middle of a 10-12…
Yeah, this is good timing because I'm actually in the middle of kind of putting together a fat loss phase first four weeks recap for Instagram.
So I'm in a fat loss phase, a calorie deficit for probably 10 to 12 weeks leading up to our team trip to Canada.
Team BFF gets together once a year, at least once a year to hang out.
So that's where we're going.
And I want to be a little bit leaner for it.
And we've discussed nothing wrong with aesthetic goals, nothing wrong with goals of that nature, as long as you're doing it responsibly and respectfully.
So that's what I'm doing.
I'm in week three at the time of recording this, and I have been 100%, I am very proud to say, So that's kind of the short of where I am.
But we were talking behind the scenes, trying to figure out what to talk about this week.
And I'm like, you know, I'd like to talk a little bit about how I'm handling some life curveballs right now in a fat loss phase, right? Because as we've discussed before on this podcast, you got to look at your life and see when it makes the most sense for you to dial certain things in, which is exactly what I did last Obviously, early postpartum is not the time for a fat loss phase.
And there were just lots of new things to learn as a first time mom and systems to put in place.
And so now at 11 months postpartum at the time of recording this, I'm feeling ready to turn it up with this little dangling carrot of Disney, which is kind of fun.
Yeah, because really, this is the first time you've done a fat loss phase as a new mom.
So this is a completely like new chapter for you.
Because how long has it been since you've been in a fat loss phase?
Last fat loss phase.
So it's 2026 now, August, end of August.
Last fat loss phase was, I think, June or July 2024.
Okay.
So it's been a couple years,
A.
And B, you're just a different person.
You have a tiny human that's in charge of you now.
