The scale gets way too much power in fat loss conversations, and in today’s episode we’re unpacking why that needs to change. We dig into how scale weight is only one data point, why day-to-day…
I did, and I was kind of thinking, I mean, we don't really have to like, "And let's talk about the same, the scale that we always talk about." You know what I mean? And I think it, what sparked it for me was just it's still so ingrained that that's the first thing people look at if they feel like-
And it's kind of like, so 30 days and then you immediately look at the scale, and then that's your decision.
That's where you decide, "I'm stalled." Case in point for me this morning, like, I got on the scale today and it was kind of one of the higher numbers I've seen since I've been in maintenance.
And it's like the difference between, I think, you know, where I'm coming from and where she's coming from, and I'm not saying, like, the scale will always have that little, like, oof.
And like, you just have to de- decide that it probably will always kind of be there from time to time, probably a lot less if you allow it to be.
But I didn't change a damn thing because I know what I'm doing, and I think that's what I wanna talk about.
It's are you confident in your actions, number one? If fat loss is your goal, are you in a calorie deficit 80-plus percent of the time? Are you doing the checklist things that we talk about? Are you tracking your food using a food scale? Look at your life.
So I'm like, let's look across the entirety of what you're doing, and then take an honest audit of your nutrition because nutrition's gonna be the driver always.
And if you can honestly say, like, "I'm doing the boring basics on a consistent basis," then just get away from the scale.
