I hit puberty really early, which I think by working on those standards was kind of normal, but it was, I think it's probably a little bit earlier these days, but it was around 11 and the Spice Girls impulse had just come out.

1999, times
were good.
I was not.
Amanda was cooking in the womb.
Things were simpler then.
Somebody from school, probably my friend Kate, shout out to Kate, got the Spice Girls impulse.
and was giving us all a go.
I was like, hell yes.
Put up my underarms.
One of the girls was like, you've got hair on your arms.
And I was like, what? Where did this come from? And I was like, Jesus.
And then I, you know, realized I'd had little breast buds and I'd had pubic hair.
I mean, I wasn't paying any attention.
I was just like, How did I not notice any of this was happening? Because it wasn't until like the next year that we talked about puberty.
But I had just been just happy and just completely unaware of opinion around my body, really.
I had, I would just use it for fun and play and climbing.
I'm embarrassed.
And that was the moment that changed my view.
I'm a little lamey, bless the heart.

was really tricky to shave too.
