So when God seems silent at the gate.

So we're going to talk more about Mordecai than we are about Esther.

So Mordecai is the cousin of Esther.

He brought up Esther as his own.

So Esther was an orphan.

She lost her parents.

So hard time.

So he brought her up as his own.

I don't know if everybody knows the story of Esther.

I'm not going to go into that too much this morning because I really want to stick on him.

But he was someone who no one really watched, no one really cared too much about because this book is really about Esther being made for such a time as this and she saved her people and the nation and it goes on to being that story.

But Mordecai was somebody that sat at the gate.

Mordecai was somebody that he comes to a point where he hears two people.

So when you're at the gate, it wasn't that he just sat there doing nothing.

In those times, it was that he might have had an admin role.

He had some sort of role for the palace sitting at the gate.

But it wasn't like a very widely known role.

But he was always faithful sitting at the gate.

And he was known to be sitting at the gate.

So he overheard two people who were planning to kill the king.

and so we'll read into this part here Esther 2 19 23 when the virgins were assembled so he had brought in so no one Esther hid that she was a Jew and you're gonna have to go go back and read the story if you want to get to where we are otherwise we'll go too much into it but to do a brief story The king had banished his first queen because she didn't come to him when he called her.

And then so he was finding another queen.

And so Mordecai said to his cousin, you know what, be prepared for this.

And you know what, as a woman, you go, this girl now has to prepare for months for a man who she never met.

That's mind-blowing to me.
