Ep. 38 "Nothing but the FACTS"

So last week, the Jersey Birds, the all-female ice hockey league that we have at our ice arena, they played their championship game, and it was just awesome.

And it really is very cool.

I learned a lot about what the ice arena in East Brunswick offers these Jersey Birds and why they're staying there.

And you'll be happy to know what I learned about these two women, Anna and Nicole, that are running it.

It started out with just four teams.

And they're going to do one more season with four teams.

But they have enough now to fulfill eight teams on the ice.

That's great.

It really is

amazing.

We said

all along that it is a very fast-growing sport.

Yeah, women's hockey.

And that's why one of the things that we contemplated in building the rink was that there would be extra changing areas and combinations.

I remember when my son was doing hockey and there was a handful of girls that were playing and they had to go into the regular restrooms.

There was no place for them.

They

touched on that.

They were really – I'm telling you, they touched on it.

And they said how great that East Brunswick did to prepare for a female hockey league there.

They said how many other arenas they go to where it's like one girl can go into a bathroom at a time.

It takes

forever.

Yeah, you can't do that.

So anyway, yeah, so it was really great.
