How much should you charge for online coaching—and how do you know whether your price can actually support your business? In this episode of the Business of Coaching Workshop, Andrew Jackson and Mac…
Mac McGregorGuestStephenGuestDid I capture the problem that you're, you know, if we frame this in terms of what is the problem that the coach is trying to solve and how do we help them solve that within the context of their business? Do you think that captures what you are experiencing on your calls?

This experience of people registering, and it's not really a case of how do I use the system.

There's an element of that, but we've said it a million times right here on the workshop, what are the two questions that we're always asked? How do I get clients? After they've signed up, now I've got the system, how do I get people? But then the other one is how much should I charge? Or at least that is the question that we get.

And I think a lot of people will lose sleep over something like this, they will burn lean calories worrying about how much they should charge for various reasons.

And I think this is where I'd be interested to see if you agree and certainly interested to see if anyone who listens to this call, have they found themselves in this situation?
Well, I was actually just going to ask Stephen here, I mean, because I think we've had this exact conversation with you.
How much should I charge? How many check-ins? How have you experienced that part of the process?
Yeah, so I think what I've been doing recently, which again, not everybody that's going to listen to this call does exactly what I do with in-person hybrid online as well, like all three.
However, I've been trying to think more like what I want to make per hour.
reverse engineer that to figure it out so whether that's and i usually keep them separate so like if when i do my how much income i'm bringing in i'll have online in person meaning like a couple just one-on-one clients or a family i coach and then ask i break that down um separately and then i'll say for online i want to make a hundred dollars an hour for my total time on maybe one client or whatever it might be and then i'll re-reverse engineer that for my price because i take What's the average, Andrew? You probably know about three to four minutes for an average video review, right? So then I take that.
two and four.
So take that.
If I'm going to do four reviews per week, most likely three reviews per week, that's 15 minutes.
I'll call it a week and then do it by month that way.
Hopefully that made sense.
