Like I told you in previous episodes, Zahra checked herself in the battered woman's shelter on May the 8th.

Because it's the reason everything moved as fast as it did, even though it was the longest, the slowest thing.

When someone is in a shelter, as Zahra had explained it to me, leaving a violent relationship, and they don't come back when they were expected to, the shelter doesn't wait around.

They try to reach my daughter, call her, text her, whatever channel, that they'd agreed and they give it 24 hours of trying to reach you from the moment you were supposed to come back you get 24 hours where they would give you to come back because these are after all adults that can make up their own decision shelter is just there to support them in their decision it's not a place where they're dictated to be but in order for the shelter to make sure the person did not run into a dangerous situation as my daughter ended up being they would call you and try to contact with you for 24 hours and after that they reported to the police As a missing person.

It's my also understanding that they tried to reach her all day Monday because that was the 24 hours they were trying to get a hold of her before they reported her.

When Monday ended, Without a word from her, without a response to all the attempts they have made, the shelter reported her missing on Tuesday morning, May 30th.

And I want you to hear this part very clearly because I didn't understand it myself.

I wondered if I spoke to her on Friday night and she had been missing from Friday night, how come the police are just starting to look for her on Tuesday morning around 11 o'clock when they came to my house to ask about her.
