Gaurav Vedak has been covering the Atlanta Braves Minor League system and draft for over a decade with Battery Power and Talking Chop. He can also be found on the Locked On Braves Network every…
But with that being said, we're going to be going over the week's notes from the first week of September, which is the last week of Columbus-Cleanstones baseball for the 2026 season, and the second-to-last season for the Gwinnett Stripers.
So...
Ryan, you want to get us started on our Tuesday notes?
Tuesday, game one, real simple.
Gwinnett lost one to nothing.
Two hits, one earned run, three walks, and five plays.
His command's getting a lot better.
He's finding his zone a lot more.
And it's really good to see, and it's cutting down on a lot of hard contact that we were seeing for a while.
So I think he's finally finding... his niche, where he wants to be.
And I think he's finally about ready to make that next step.
What do you guys think? Yeah,
I think he's looked a lot better since he went back down to AAA.
I think...
It reminds me a lot of how it's kind of normal for these guys to really go up to the major leagues and struggle for just a little bit and then come back down and really figure some stuff out.
At least the ones that are going to eventually return to the major leagues, that's what they do.
I'd be a lot more worried if he went back down to AAA and just struggled over and over again.
But the fact that he's gone down and he's really... really looked good since going back down.
His command, like you said, has been sharp.
He's spotting his fastball a lot better.
He's getting deeper into games.
He's not really wasting time with batters as much.
So seeing that's very encouraging from him, and I think we see him back in the major leagues sooner rather than later.
What about you, Gaurav?
