With the WNBA on pause while the FIBA World Cup basketball is happening in Berlin, I've got eyes on the US Open in New York and the Women's Pro Baseball League in Springfield, Illinois.
On the ground, on the run is Yamamoto.
Picked over at first and that will do it.

At the US Open, my girl Alex Iala from the Philippines got to the third round at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
It is
a career first
The 18 year
old moves into the last 16 here in New York for the very first time.

My other favorite tennis player, Naomi Osaka, showed up and showed out while in New York.

Naomi might be known for her game, but maybe now she's known even more for her walk-on fits.

She started the tournament stepping onto the court wearing a hooded French terry gown with sewn-in newspaper clippings highlighting her career.

And then she revealed intricate cornrows under a red and black headband, an homage to former NBA player Allen Iverson.
For me, he's a trailblazer.
I think he's also someone that I look up to a lot because he's kind of like... done a lot in fashion, whether it's on purpose or not, but he's shifted the way that NBA players dress.
