Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 4 which is the PlayStation 3 debut game for that series and it was a big deal now this game I never played it whenever it came out I think it was like was it 2008 2007 it was it was close to the launch of the PlayStation um three and However, it is special to me because I believe it was Tokyo Game Show 2004 or 2005.
Maybe it was 2005 where I got to see the first trailer of the game, the announcement trailer of the game.
Running on PlayStation three hardware, which at that time we didn't know much about the PlayStation three.
So I went to, so I've explained this a few times on the show, but I had the opportunity of going to three separate Tokyo game show events, which is like the E3 version of, um, of, uh, the Japanese E3, right? Entertainment Expo, which doesn't exist anymore.
So it's basically a convention, a showing where all the different vendors, big vendors come to show what, uh, upcoming games they have that they're working on and whatnot for press, but also it's open to general public.
So I, I went to a very early one and, um, and They put us all into, you lined up and then you would go into this like makeshift closed theater where they had, it was basically like this one room they created with blackout curtains, but it was like this big space.
And then on this big projection screen, they played this, um, longer, long ish trailer for metal girls, gear, solid four.
And, um, It was a very interesting cut, like how Kojima usually does its weird shit, where like it showed bits and pieces of like it was in first person perspective.
It showed all these like crazy like are these cut scenes? Are they not? I mean, at that time, a lot of PlayStation three stuff that they were showing were.
quote-unquote bull shots where it wasn't exactly their proof of concepts but nothing that was like legitimately anything like a final game um anyways saw that and then at the end of the video it shows a little bit of like almost this like lennox uh environment saying that this is running on the playstation 3 and you could do all these incredible cinematic things on the playstation 3 And, um, I never played it.
Um, and, uh, I never played metal gear solid for never was a huge metal gear fan, even though I did enjoy death stranding too.
I remember in high school, uh, friends like excitedly telling me about levels in, uh, was it metal gear solid, I guess the, the original one.
