This week, we take a deep dive into Silent Hill: Townfall for our full review. Does Screen Burn and Konami’s first-person psychological horror deliver on its eerie Scottish atmosphere, or do its overt…
Um, I was from the beginning intrigued, uh, this game, the graphics are really good, really, really good on this game.
However, um, some stutter stuttering issues with the, uh, pc version of it so if i think if you have a choice you might want to if you're playing it at launch you probably are doing better off playing it on the ps5 with less uh stutter uh i play on a beefy pc and i did notice not so much start like at the beginning there was some stutter but then like afterwards when i would start the game again um then i would see that it was compiling shaders which was kind of weird um It smoothed out over time, but pretty much some of the later cut scenes were experiencing some like stuttering, which was weird.
2 which did get patched out over time however the game's atmosphere and story and stuff like that it's just intriguing enough that you kind of can look past that but i do definitely want to state that it wasn't a clean experience on the pc version i think i had better uh time uh technical wise with uh silent hill f um even that was unreal 5 as well so Silent Hill Townfall.
This game is at a first person perspective and very much you're in this like misty Scottish island town and trying to figure out why you are waking up from sleep.
presumably the dead uh if you are familiar with the silent hill series especially if you play like this game it felt like they studied silent hill 2 and thought like what works with this game uh why people liked it and what are the what are the core elements what are the constants in the game in the series and then they swapped it out with the variables and stuff like that i i Now, at the beginning, when I was playing the game at the just absorbing this beautifully detailed small town and the mystery at the beginning of trying to find out what's going on, what happened in this town and what.
Why is this person, Simon Ordell, the main character, why is he coming back to life or what is going down? That mystery was cool.
But after a certain bit of time, I felt that it was too on the nose of them trying to mimic the elements of Silent Hill 2.
Except I think there was some other elements that were kind of missing that were kind of glaring as well.
which I don't know, maybe there was some lore or some of the like pieces of paper or emails and stuff like that, that I missed reading that might have more about that.
So I may have, I've definitely missed some stuff and maybe subsequent playthroughs, you get more out of it.
But like, um, yeah, You have to go back to Silent Hill's source material, especially Silent Hill 2.
