I have had ambition to be creative, wanting to build a community, wanting more flexibility and freedom and having more autonomy in my life and the choices that I was able to make in my career and my life.

But instead, I was forcing myself to make career choices for money at the expense of my sincere desires to work in the way that really suited me.

And do you know what? There was an actual cost to that because I suffered with stress, anxiety, and I actually burnt out.

And it wasn't until I was actually interviewing on this podcast, the UK's leading expert in burnout, Jane Morris, and the penny actually dropped on that podcast.

And looking back, I can just see that I was living so out of sync with my true self.

And the way that how I really can visualize this is it's almost like a plant in a, say like a lovely terracotta ceramic pot and he's growing and growing and he gets so big that the plant pot starts to crack and the roots are in that one pot, but the other roots are growing out and they're desperately trying to find another pot, but they don't know.

And it's really about you, those roots, finding the next pot before somebody goes and puts you in another pot that you don't want to be in, that you don't belong in.

And you know what? You might be listening to this being like, yeah, but I still need to make money and I do need to make the sensible choices.

I've got all the bloody accreditations because I was collecting them like bloody coffee stamps.
