I think there's already this preview list that's made every year by Board Game Geek, which really pushes forward that hype.

What's new? What's hot? What do I need to get? There are things that are releasing there before they are really going to be at your game store.

And then the year goes by and another year goes by and those things get swept aside and whatever kind of didn't make it into your bag there, you might not think about again.
