S&P 500 in particular had nine straight weeks of gains, and so we saw that come to an end.

And since we're throwing out guesses, Zeala, any guesses as to what really caused the drop on Friday?

Broadcom got hit pretty hard during the week after they reported on Wednesday, and it was really more about light guidance going forward.

But what really came out on Friday were the labor market reports, both in the US and Canada, both a lot stronger than consensus coming in, and that had a obviously impact on expectations for central bank moves.

The Fed is now forecasted for a full 25 basis point rate hike baked in by the end of the year, and that had upward pressure on bond yields, which had downward pressure on equity markets.

So NASDAQ, for example, was down 4.5% compared to the S&P 500 that was down 2.5%.

Emerging markets got hit pretty hard, down almost 5%, largely driven down by South Korea as well, which is very tech-heavy.

And even reading all the headlines on Sunday or the newsletters that I subscribe to, I think everyone's trying to make sense of is it the AI bubble, is it the labor market, what's going on? So I myself was trying to decipher these things this morning in my inbox.

I don't know when they switched The Magnificent Seven to The Parabolic Seven, [laughs] but The Parabolic Seven plus three other tech companies drove 80% of the S&P 500's gains year to date through May 31st.
