Same mash bill. Same family legacy. Different barrels. Different releases. In this episode, I put two McBrayer bourbons to the test as **The Judge** and their **250th Anniversary release** go…
Now, there's a ton of history here for the McBrayer family, and this here today is not a history lesson.
Lawrenceburg is the home of Wild Turkey and Four Roses and Larrikin and many others, and it has a storied past in the whiskey world.
So it's cool to spotlight McBrayer today again here on the podcast.
But today is not a history lesson.
I'm not going to bore you with any history, even though it's not boring.
We're not going to do any history today.
So if you want to go back and listen to my interview with Bill McBrayer of McBrayer Legacy Spirits, it's a couple months back.
That way you'll get all the deets on the family history and his bringing back the legacy of W.H. McBrayer.
Not that I didn't trust Bill when we spoke a while back, but I actually looked up...
Old man McBrayer.
William Harrison McBrayer.
I looked him up on the internet.
He's on the internet.
The judge, if you will.
And in the 1880 census of the United States of America, sure enough, there he is in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, age 57, and his occupation is distiller.
Look, guys, I love history.
I love genealogy and all that.
I'm not going to talk much about that today, but in my mind, it's the people that make the whiskey.
So on to the bourbons.
