Lily is back on the podcast for the third time! After a birth centre birth and a BBA with her two daughters, she's here today to share her most recent experience of giving birth to her son. Lily…
Serena LouthHostYeah, so Winnie was born in a birth centre and...
I wasn't, wasn't allowed by my mom to have a home birth for the first birth.
Cause we lived at her house and she was like, Lily, you are just not having a baby in this house.
And has been at all of my births.
She is literally a garden guardian angel.
She's just the most amazing woman.
And then Nancy, the second was born in the kitchen.
in our house and that was a planned home birth and it was wonderful.
And then this time I planned for home birth as well.
Okay, cool.

So you obviously hired the same doula, as you said, Sarah, again, I can share her details in the show notes.

Was there anything that you did differently or because you knew you were going to have a home birth again, did you just kind of carbon copy things from last time?
So I told Sarah I was pregnant twice.
I think eight weeks.
I was like, let's make sure you are around.
And then I didn't do a lot.
I didn't do really anything apart from mentally.
I did quite a lot of work because as you said at the beginning, I'd never heard of like the third birth is a curve ball.
And then in one week I heard about five times and I, I was slightly furious that people have said that because I'm weirdly, I'm a control freak.
So I like things.
I like to know what I'm doing and I like to be in control of what I'm doing, which is why it's so weird that I'm so happy to wait for a baby and not know what's going on.
So there's like a bit of confusion there.
But I don't enjoy the... like the voices and the narrative around home birth.
