was born in Elmira, New York, and I grew up in Corning.

Brian DierkerHost

1:25

And went to high school there and had your whole childhood there? Yep.

Brian DierkerHost

1:29

You still have family over

1:30

there? Yes, yeah.

1:31

My parents still live in Corning.

Brian DierkerHost

1:33

You know what I'm excited to ask you about is what brought you out

1:36

west? I guess I came on a couple climbing and skiing trips out here and then just started working out here.

1:45

And then I kind of ended up in Arizona in a weird way, but I really like it here now.

Brian DierkerHost

1:52

So did you climb and ski and all that stuff back east?

1:56

I did.

1:57

When

Brian DierkerHost

1:57

you grew

1:57

up? Not when I grew up, but I went to SUNY Plattsburgh.

2:03

They have an expeditionary studies program.

2:05

That's really where I started.

Brian DierkerHost

2:07

And what school is that?

2:08

It's SUNY Plattsburgh.

2:09

It's north of the Adirondacks.

Brian DierkerHost

2:12

A lot of us haven't heard of that school, I'm sure.

Brian DierkerHost

2:15

All my listeners out there, unless you're, I've got other alumni out there.

Brian DierkerHost

2:21

Is it a college or a university?

2:23

Yeah, it's a state school.

Brian DierkerHost

2:25

And did you get a degree there? I

2:28

got a certificate in expeditionary studies.

Brian DierkerHost

2:32

That's pretty cool, expeditionary studies.
