**Hey Dog Lover 🐾** Your dog says no. Maybe they pull their paw away when you try to trim their nails. Maybe they move away when you reach toward them. Maybe they’re very clearly communicating…
Your dog said no.
I mean, maybe they pulled their paw away when you were trying to trim their nails.
Maybe they moved away when you reached out towards them.
Maybe they're very clearly communicating, "I don't want you to do this." So now what? Because I think we've created two extremes when it comes to our dogs.
On the one side, we have the, "I'm human.
You're a dog.
We're doing this whether you like it or not." And on the other side, we have the, "My dog said no, so therefore I have to stop." I don't actually think either one of those represents a healthy relationship, because a relationship can include a disagreement.
Sometimes your dog is going to say, "Please don't," and sometimes you're gonna have to say, "I hear you.
I know you don't want me to do this, but I still need to do it." So today, we're gonna talk about what happens in those moments.
What does respecting your dog's autonomy actually mean? Does listening to your dog mean they always get the answer that they want? And most importantly, what does your dog learn about you when you have to make the decision they disagree with? That sounds like an amazing episode, so why don't we just get into it? Ready to have a calm and peaceful life with your dog without the stress of those fear-based behaviors? Hi, I'm Tracy, and I've been there, overwhelmed by all the conflicting dog training advice and unsure of what to do next, but now I help dog lovers like you simplify your life with your dog by building confidence naturally, fostering trust, and addressing those fear-based challenges.
So if you're ready, stop chopping those chicken wieners and let's get to it.
