Do We All Have Psychic Abilities?: My Personal Beliefs

Do I believe in people who claim to have psychic gifts? And the simple answer for you is yes.

I do believe in psychic ability.

But perhaps not quite in the way people might expect.

Because I don't believe psychic ability is necessarily a special gift given to a tiny number of chosen people.

I actually believe we all have it.

You, me, every one of you listening to this episode.

I think we all have some level of intuition or sensitivity that we don't completely understand.

But I also believe that someone possessing a generally powerful psychic ability is incredibly rare, and there's a big difference between those two things.

I grew up around spiritualism.

My family had involvement with the spiritualist church, so conversations around spirits, mediums, and communication with those who had died weren't particularly unusual to me.

It wasn't something I discovered through ghost hunting.

It was there long before that.

And over the years, I've also had my own experiences.

There have been occasions where I've sensed things.

Times when I've known something without really understanding why.

Feelings about people or places that seem to come from nowhere.

And I've learnt to trust my intuition much more than I did when I was younger.

Do I call myself psychic? No, I wouldn't.

But do I think I'm sensitive to certain things? Yes, I do.

And I think most people are.

The difference is that some people seem much more naturally tuned into things than others.

It's a little like any other human ability.

Most of us can sing.

That doesn't mean we're all incredible singers.

Most of us can run.
