The Assassin's Blade Summary

So we have first up, The Assassin and the Pirate Lord.

So Celaena is sixteen years old.

She's attending a meeting with Arobynn, who's the King of the Assassins, and his inner circle.

Two of the seven members are missing.

Arobynn ends up telling them that Gregory has been captured.

So Gregory is one of the two that was missing.

Celaena says that they should send someone to kill Gregory so that he doesn't tell anyone what he knows.

Sam objects to this, but Arobynn already gave the order for Gregory to be killed.

Celaena is Arobynn's heir, and not Sam, which causes some tension between the two of them.

And Celaena is told that Ben was killed.

So the two people that were missing were Ben and Gregory.

Ben was killed, Gregory was captured in the process, and then Gregory was killed by Arobynn's orders.

Ben was Arobynn's second.

Celaena then finds out that they didn't retrieve Ben's body.

She gets into an argument with Sam about whether or not to retrieve it, and she decides to go get his body herself.

We then have Sam and Celaena, they're in Skull's Bay.

They're visiting Captain Rolfe, who's the Pirate Lord.

They had three assassins murdered by pirates, and Sam and Celaena are sent with a sealed letter from Arobynn to go confront Rolfe about this.

Rolfe is late for their meeting, and Celaena has her feet kicked up on his desk.

She's sitting in his chair, looking through all of his things, and she's stressing Sam out.

He's telling her to sit down, and she's not listening to him.

I mean, obviously.

We then have Rolfe coming in, and Celaena eventually gets out of the chair, makes her way over to the other side to sit next to Sam.

They give the letter from Arobynn to Rolfe, and this is when they find out, well, when Celaena finds out, they weren't there because of the dead assassins.

They're there because Arobynn wants to get into slave trading, and he's working out some kind of business deal with Rolfe.
