Now to start, I'd like to just give you an update on my little patient that inspired this podcast series.
The second consultation is a week, roughly a week later, and that is more regular than what I usually see babies.
Usually when a baby has plagiocephaly, even if it is quite profound, I tend to see them once, give a lot of ideas, perhaps a bit more in depth than we went last week and give parents time to implement them.
And then we can progress the activities because baby's at a new level of function.
Um, or I can just give more activities and they will have said, oh, this one really works.
Um, you know, and we address things as they go and we give them a new kind of program of activities to do, or more things to add onto what they were already doing.
Now, as you know, I'm seeing this baby a little bit more frequently because mum feels like she'd like a bit more support.
Again, she's very open about this, so I'm happy to share with you and she's given me her consent to do so.
I think she needs a bit more support firstly, because it's been quite a traumatic journey for her and she's been left and she feels a little bit like she's left it too late, which is not the case at all.
So this little baby has got a good six to 12 months left before the head shape is fused and really set in.
And even then we have growth changing the head shape ever so slightly after that stage.
And so we're moving quite quickly along with more intensive physiotherapy.
