that's awesome Jocelyn thank you so much for telling us that um so could you give us a little I I'm like never I'm not really familiar with the gov team here so what's like a day in the life of someone on
like you um let's see so um before i come to school i usually have work at the buck or starbucks so i'll be there from like 5 30 to 10 is that a thing like that's what me all my friends call it is the buck that's kind of fun yeah it is it is fun um it's very silly very goofy um i get off of work and then like i'll try to go to the gym or whatever and then in between that okay girl not thanks the past week though i just have not had time and i'm like i have bigger fish to fry low-key um if i don't do that um usually like i'll come straight to the newsroom or i'll work in the like because i'll take the bus to school and i'll give myself 30 minutes to do like like work on any gov teamwork that i possibly can or i
If it's maybe finishing a graph or interviewing a student or responding to emails, that's kind of...
I try to fit it in in random time intervals throughout the day that I do have.
And then I have class... like for two hours and then after that I spend the next few hours working on any stories for the gov team for that and then on Mondays I start working on the bill of the well the draft for breaking down the bill and then yeah and then I film it on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and then that's what it looks like
It's actually what we want Jocelyn to come on the show because this is so innovative, so creative.
let's see okay so imagine you're like brain rotting on the bus ride to school right and you see this really cool news organization called mustang news all right and then you see this random reel and you're like let me check this out and then it's this random lady break dancing and explaining super jargony legislation to you in 15 seconds or 30 seconds that's what breaking down the bill is essentially
Well, um, so the gov team is, is a baby still, you know, she's, she's taking her first steps, you know? Um, and I was thinking over the summer, I was like, I feel like we could do a lot more than just report on stories.
Obviously stories are very important, but I feel like we have to be able to meet our audience.
And, um, You know, I would see like little random real explainers of like legislation and stuff.
