Welcome to Bedside Reading, the podcast for bibliophile healthcare professionals who want to get some accidental CPD and ideas for their to-read pile.

Join me on your morning run, on your dog walk, whilst you're doing the washing up, or snuggle on the sofa with a lap full of kittens and a cup of tea.

A really warm welcome back today to somebody who I always really enjoy talking to.

I'm delighted to have Ben Tyler here today to talk about Hungry by Katrina O'Sullivan, which is Katrina O'Sullivan's second memoir and which addresses topics around body shaming and hunger for food, for love, for achievement.

And Ben has a really fascinating career, including a specialist interest in obesity medicine.

So we're using this book as a jumping off point today to think about obesity, stigma, shame, and so much more.

I absolutely loved the book Hungry, but I've loved it even more after talking to Ben and I hope you'll enjoy our conversation too.

So we are today going to be talking about Hungry by Katrina O'Sullivan, which is a mind-blowingly, absolutely brilliant book, which I enjoyed very much indeed.

But before we start on the book, would you like to introduce yourself so listeners know who I'm talking to today?

I've got a special interest in obesity medicine and exercise medicine, which is why I'm particularly excited to talk about this book today with you, Tara.

And yeah, like you say, it's a book that has really challenged me in lots of ways, has really helped me practice in a lot of ways.

And yeah, I think there's so much we could talk about today, so I'm excited to see where we end up.
