are a big audiobook fan.

Do you have a genre of choice?

It is all largely medical, medically related.

So if you're looking through them all, there is a whole host from surgical, psychiatric, geriatricians, a combination of it.

But also I'm a big fan of the Thursday Night Murder Club, that side of things as well.

I do like a little bit of a mystery thrown in.

Yeah.

And I think that's one of the things, actually, you mentioned the Thursday Murder Club, that idea of actually putting older adults in the spotlight and having them as the leading characters within a story.

And that's something that is brilliant within your book.

And I suppose as an old age psychiatrist, perhaps it's inevitable that your main characters are all going to be over 65.

But I think there is that real importance of that richness of people's lives.

And recognizing, you know, that obviously, you know, it sounds like trying to say, well, you know, everybody's got something to offer at whatever age.

But actually, I think the majority of protagonists within fiction have tended

to be

younger, haven't they?

Definitely.

And it was a challenge about it.

And the book itself is an audio book.

And I was so sure and absolutely hammered the point of please don't have this wavery voice because the vast majority of people that are coming into services, I class them as 65 years young.

So it is that sort of the challenge of it.

They have the same social lives now.

They are more independent.

The sort of image people have of an older person is so much different to where we were 10, 20 years ago.

Our averages have skewed so much about kind of that living of independence.

So, yeah, I hope some of that sort of the challenging of what you would tend to expect when people are coming into retirement It's not the pleated skirts, is one of the phrases I said, and the polished shoes.
