This week on Beale Street Caravan, we're up the road in Nashville for Americana Fest, where Memphis has made its presence felt for nearly a decade, thanks to the work of Music Export Memphis.

Thousands of artists, fans, and industry folks from all over the world attend, but it's been especially exciting to see how Memphis has carved out a real place in the mix over the last nine years.

It's roots music, it's tradition, it's innovation, and it's about Memphis showing up with all that in one package.

This year, that package includes a few Memphis acts that people should get familiar with: The Stupid Reasons, Black Cream, Alexis Grace, Serena Wages, and John Naylor.

Man, that's a powerful lineup right there, and, and even beyond that group that did the Pure Memphis happy hour, we also had Memphis represented at another venue of Americana Fest over at Third and Lindsley, where my friends Southern Avenue were over there shutting the stage down.

It's soul, it's grit, it's joyous, and it fits right into the Americana Fest vibe.
