He claims that they are over-prescribed and can be possibly harmful to children and even adults, and that they're addictive.

While not part of his reasoning, some parents actually are concerned between the link of SSRIs and a possible link to an autism diagnosis, not in children who are already born, but the link between an SSRI exposure during pregnancy and having a child with an autism diagnosis.
