135. On the Hunt Australia

So it's been just, you know, a crazy couple of, I guess, months after what happened-

Yeah

... at Bondi, and just in general.

And you know, one thing I always am very, I guess, taken back by the firearms community is when someone puts up something about poaching and-

Yeah

...

the mixed comments.

And I, I for one am sick of seeing people justify a poacher's actions.

I'm sick and tired of seeing the comments like, "Oh, they're only a feral pest.

You're doing the farmer a favor." Uh, and I sort of sit there and go, such an uneducated viewpoint because I'm sure all of those people would not be impressed if someone just walked into their living room when they weren't home, or when they were home they'd be probably super pissed off and...

But because it's somehow on a property that's larger than your house, your average house, that it's somehow deemed acceptable.

And I try my best on this podcast to condemn it and, and I've said, and I'll continue to say, if I find out someone that I'm friends with or associated with is caught poaching, done poaching, I'm out, mate.

I don't care who you are.

You could be me best friend for 10 years and I'll flick ya.

Yeah.

You know?

Yeah.

And, and I think that's a, a stand I wanna take, and I'm hoping more and more people do it because I don't see how poaching would continue if people are finding out about it, finding about that's what the animals were taken.

And they've gotta be bragging about 'em, because I just don't understand why you would do it otherwise.

Yeah.

It's quite...

Yeah, it's quite an annoying thing but, um, mate, you've had some run-ins in the past.

I've had, uh, a, a good one actually.

Usually when I go hunting, I take my wife and my two kids.

My two kids are seven and three, so they're only young.
