So if any of our listeners haven't ever heard of the tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is certainly a reasonable thing, but not everyone has heard of it.

It's a miraculous image of our Blessed Mother that appeared as part of multiple appearances of our Blessed Mother to St. Juan Diego in 1531.

And that miraculous image that appeared on his clothing... is still in existence and it is in a beautiful basilica in Mexico City.

And I had the great privilege of getting to go to Mass there and to spend time looking at that image.

The sense of my heart trusting in the motherly love of Jesus's mother for me was so profound to feel that being a bit like a child that just feels safe around mom.

There's a basic theological principle here in recognizing Mary as our mother too.

So in the order of nature, and the very word nature comes from the Latin natus, where we get words like nativity and prenatal.

The natural reality in its most basic sense is the reality of our conception and birth.

This is why Jesus says we cannot enter the kingdom unless we are born anew, regenerated.
