Suzanne B. O'BrienHostWhen I say this, this institute, Doula Givers Institute, this moment, this education, this podcast.
I have over 25 years of working in the space of elder care, hospice care, which is end of life care, oncology, which is cancer care, as a death doula and as a doula giver with people all over the world.
I have an incredible amount of experience, and I'm here to share it all with you.
Why? What is the definition of insanity? It's doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome, and that's what we're doing.
In fact, we have a crisis upon us with an aging population like we've never seen before.
So it's more of a invitation and a crisis at this moment for the aging population and for those at the end of life, and also globally.
Something that every single person will experience, and somehow death became something that is one of the top fears.
Somehow death became something like the ultimate enemy, and somehow death became something that we are supposed to outrun and avoid at all costs, and those costs are high on so many levels.
And I'm going to tell you, spoiler alert right now, I have been honored and blessed to be with over 1,000 people at the end of life.
I've seen some of the most beautiful, profound, sacred end of life transitions.
I will tell you that an unlived life is what you should be afraid of, because that's what the regret at the end is, that people tell me they thought they had more time and they didn't fully live.
So we're going to break it all down, but this platform, Ask a Death Doula podcast, Doula Givers Institute, all the free resources, is sharing everything we know to bring back the concept of community taking care of community again for free.
So let's try something new, but actually it's a remembering of, you know, what used to be.
That's how we're going to change the world, and I'm going to give you everything that I know to help us do that.
So make sure that you follow this podcast, that you share it with other people, that you're following the socials because it is happening today.
