And I remember doing a dive in the Maldives quite early on and feeling like I was floating through Finding Nemo, like that kind of magical landscape.

Essentially, you're an astronaut, right? There are these quotes comparing diving like being explored through space, and I felt like that was very accurate for me.

And just having that sense of childlike wonder, I think that a lot of us, myself included, sometimes we lose sight of that the older we get.

You know, you have a dive buddy, but your buddy generally can't talk to you.

And on land I'm quite, you know, high energy and running around all the time, and the ocean is like the one space where I get to retreat and be still for a moment and be present.

And, you know, when you think of breathing on scuba, it's very meditative, you know, taking these long breaths, calming yourself down, controlling your buoyancy.
