Bickley Blast - What happens now?

Every football team evolves over the course of a season, but four games is a month.

It represents twenty-four percent of the season, and by the time this Sunday's game is over, the Cardinals better have a firm grasp on who they are and how they play.

Their problems are obvious.

The Cardinals have zero pass rush.

They can't protect the quarterback.

They don't generate explosives.

They are among the league worst in generating penalty flags.

But it's also clear the Cardinals have really good competitive spirit.

They have elite weapons on offense.

The Seahawks' loss looks worse on paper than it did on the field.

And against the forty-niners, their offense rallied from a seventeen-point deficit to put a scare into the home team.

Win on Sunday, and it'll be a pretty good opening month for a rookie head coach.

But a victory alone isn't good enough for what's coming for the Cardinals, which brings us back to the overall theme of identity.

And this week, they need to get vertical with their passing game.

They need to find a better balance of carries in their running game.

They need to manufacture a pass rush, even if it means dialing up blitzes.

And they need to play clean, disciplined football like we were promised.

The first three weeks have been all over the map.

A gritty road win in LA, a depressing day in Glendale, and a moral victory in Santa Clara.

And this Sunday, the Cardinals need to play their best game yet.
