But if we look at, let's say, the Roman Empire.

As much as we may think that we're so much wiser and smarter than we are today, then they were.

We're not.

Read some of the things that they wrote.

Have you studied Marcus Aurelius? We're not.

We're not any smarter today.

The collapse of the Roman Empire took hundreds of years.

Likely, many of those generations that were born into that, they didn't think of themselves as being in the collapse of the Roman Empire.

They probably thought things like, oh, times are getting tough.

I got to work a little harder.

I remember the stories of my grandparents and it seemed like things were better then.

Because again, it took hundreds of years.

And when I say the fall of Rome, that's kind of even harder to define even for experts.

But we're talking about, you know, the Western Roman Empire.

That took hundreds of years.

Easily hundreds of years.

Several hundred years.

And then it didn't completely collapse.

It just kind of shifted to Constantinople, the Eastern Roman Empire, which was around a long time.

And then that transferred and got sacked.

And that went to the Holy Roman Empire, which is basically the Catholic Church.

And you could say, you know, Rome collapsed, but Rome's still there.

People still live in Britain.
