08-16-26 | Luke 18:15-17 | Pastor Scott Andrews

So let's read the text together.

Luke chapter 18, three very long verses.

Verses 15 and following say this.

And they were bringing even their babies to him so that he would touch them.

But when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them.

Way to go, guys.

But Jesus called for them, saying, Permit the children to come to me, and do not hinder them.

For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Truly I say to you, listen, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.

Wow.

That, wow.

What are we to do with that? Maybe we should sing those songs after all.

Three verses today to remind us Jesus loves little children.

And the kingdom belongs to such as these babies.

Let me give you the outline.

We're going to first see children, actually babies brought to Jesus, and then we'll see the response of the disciples.

This is one of those guys.

The response of the disciples to the children.

And third, we'll see the response of Jesus to the disciples and the children.

And finally, the absolute necessity to enter the kingdom like children.

You won't enter it any other way.

That's what he says.
