Today, Nicole wrote in.
She didn't feel the need to be anonymous, but I think her story is really interesting.
So listen to this.
She said, Hi, Ali and DZ.
November is National Adoption Month, and I feel this is a perfect time for my story.
Okay.
Basically, she wants to know, is she the jerk for telling her siblings she exists? Wait for it.
She said, I'm Nicole and my friend Megan and I, we were both adopted as babies, each in a closed adoption.
Now a closed adoption means that the bio parents and adopted parents never meet or know any identifying information.
So nobody knows anybody.
She said, we both took ancestry DNA in efforts to locate our birth parents and we succeeded.
I've met both my bio parents.
I'm getting goosebumps reading this.
She said, I've met both my bio parents and Megan met her bio father.
We have ongoing communication and relationships with three out of the four parents.
And we even found Megan's birth mom reached out.
She was not interested in meeting.
However, we have half bio siblings on our birth mom sides and none of these siblings know we exist.
My bio mom hasn't told her two children and doesn't want to.
And because Megan's bio mom doesn't want to connect, it's obvious her two children do not know she exists.
