Um, and I wanna talk t- about our friend Jackson from Australia, who's created a social media, uh, firestorm here by saying Burger King breakfast is greater than McDonald's breakfast.
I'm gonna give Jackson the benefit of the doubt and say maybe things are different in Australia.
Um, first of all, the hash brown, and I believe I've discussed this on this show before.
The McDonald's hash brown, in its lovely oval shape, is one of the most delicious things on the earth.
... not for nothing, and I mean, like, I, uh, should this be counted against the quality of a Burger King breakfast, I'm not sure.
But the consistency in general of the food preparation at Burger King is far lower than at McDonald's.
I think Burger King is hit or miss for making the food per the specifications.
I think you could end up with something good, or I think you could end up with something off.
Like, I, I just, I don't think Burger King is as consistent, and I think part of it is that Burger King just doesn't have the same volume that McDonald's does, especially for breakfast, and that they don't have the, the reps in on it.
I mean, and I'll go as far as saying, like, as a kid, I loved the hotcakes and the big breakfast.
... you, you cannot tell me that the consistency is, at McDonald's is, i- is superior when i- it is hit or miss life that if you get breakfast burritos, you just don't know.
You maybe get one that's been hanging around for nine hours, that's made mostly of coral.
I think that the food consistency at McDonald's is far superior to Burger King-
I mean, and I think that's true across the board at a lot of fast food places, and a lot of-
And I think that people who make a show of liking other fast food more than McDonald's are doing, like, the-
There's a reason why number one is number one, you know? I, I don't know what to tell people.
But then remember we, like, went to W- did we go to Wendy's for breakfast that one time, and they were, like, put out by the fact that we were even there?
But that's the problem with places that don't get a lot of reps. McDonald's would never do that to you for a McDonald's breakfast.
And, uh, uh, okay, I will give McDonald's this, that the ones in the South have sausage gravy.
Of course, the Southern people think that that's bogus to have sausage gravy at McDonald's.
I do not know, um, I don't know, I don't think we do fast food places up here just good enough, uh, to be quite honest, when it really comes down to it, which I think is, is too bad.
Uh, and I think that, like, you know, it's funny because you and I, our go-to is the McDonald's generally in Newburyport or Bradford, and these are very, uh, these places are, are anomalous, in Newburyport especially.
And you're right, there's a McDonald's there, um, which has high volume, which generally they do a good job.
There are places in this country where Wendy's is number one, like it's everybody's favorite.
But, but I, I just think McDonald's is, is so consistent, so on point with their food, and you, like, know what you're getting.
I think that doing a lot of volume makes you be better than the other places too, so it's sort of a self-perpetuating cycle.
If you're looking for a nice greasy, big, fatty breakfast, Burger King has a, has a better one.
I don't buy the underlying premise that just having two sausage patties instead of one automatically makes the breakfast better.
