Your money mindset can have a BIG impact on your relationship with money. With 2027 quickly approaching, I am joined with Money Mindset Coach…
Laura Ann MooreGuestOlaHostAnd obviously we're talking about all things money mindset today.
And I guess for people listening today that don't quite understand what we mean by money mindset, would you mind just giving a breakdown into what that actually is?

Yeah, so the way that I usually explain money mindset is it's your unique set of beliefs, your set of habits of thinking around money.

So your money mindset, and everyone has one, everyone has a money story, which is obviously the story that you had growing up around money, and that forms what your money mindset is today.

So it's essentially how you view money, how you view your relationship with money and the way money works in the world.

So it has a direct impact on the way that you're thinking about it and how that then plays out in the world, with your spending, with your saving, with your risk taking, all of that.
Yeah, and it's funny because I know where I stand with my own money mindset.
I've done a lot of work to try and change that.
I think it's funny.
I worked really hard to change it as an employee.
I think now being a business owner, I've had to change it.
And I've had to change it even more now that I'm seeing more content with people being so transparent about their business, their income, their portfolios, X, Y, Z.
So it's a lot of work that needs to be done.
But how much of our relationship with money is shaped in childhood? So much

So it's like we grow up in environments that we have no control over obviously from when you're young yeah when you're young all of the different things are going on you know the society you're born into the culture what you hear what you see what you experience the way that you as an individual take that experience and how it makes you feel, how it then gets stored in your body, how it gets stored in your mind, and what you then believe to be true.

So by the time you are an adult, your childhood, not even just around money, but everything, what happens at school, what happens with family, shapes the way that you then view money.

But the thing that I'm always really keen to remind people of is we really get caught up in your past, essentially having such an impact on your future.

Like we can look back at what happened in our childhood and start to draw dots between, oh, maybe what happened to me at this age made me believe this.
