So as I speak into this mic, it feels sort of ironic to say that I hate public speaking.
I've done it since I was a kid, probably from when I was six years old up until late high school.
Especially in my late teenage years, I would feel absolutely nauseous and nervous when I got up to speak on that debating stage.
So this week is all about being watched, whether it's being selected for a team, about being a birdwatcher with just your ears, watching over the vulnerable in your community or vulnerable biodiversity.
I also recognise that the area where FBI Radio is situated, Redfern, has long been a place of storytelling, strength, resistance and resilience for First Nations communities.
When we think of observing or the art of being observed, we usually think that it's done strictly with sight.
So he shows us how to use our other senses to notice things that we usually ignore.
