a Centurion event, which was a South Downs 100 in the company of the two aforementioned females in 2022 when they ran the South Downs Way.

Two, it's a really nice time of year to do such a thing if you're going to do, when I say an entry-level race, I mean an entry into 100.

The course is quite flat, relatively, and it's slightly under 100 miles, but don't tell anybody.

And the reason for that is that it's a fairly simple course in as much as it's 25 miles out and back, four times on four different routes.

If you want to know the full route and all the details, just go to the Last Centurion podcast that James did as a preview of the event.

And all the details are on there, but you start with 25.5 miles out and back along the Thames towpath mainly, or along the edge of the Thames, very flat.

You then go up onto the ridgeway via the Thames path first, on the other side of the river out to Little Whittingham turn round and come back again and then you go up onto the ridgeway the other way and that really is quite a climb this is the steepest section of the course climb pretty much all the way out to a point above Wantage, turn around, come back again, back to Goring.

And then you go out in the opposite direction to the first leg, on leg four, down to Reading, fairly near Sonning.

Out the other side of Reading, everybody always complains that they see the Reading sign and there's about another...

But yeah, it's on the other side of Reading from where you get in to the start, which is actually Maple Durham or Purley and then Tylerhurst.

There is an aid station roughly every six miles around the course and the turn points.

And they're all brilliantly stocked and, as ever, brilliantly staffed by the volunteers.

And another great aspect of the event is that you see your fellow competitors coming the other way.
