Why Most Paid AI Communities Fail (From the Inside)

How do you think about in our space of AI and AI marketing, what are some growth strategies that you have implemented to not only help this community grow, but just other communities that you've been involved in in the past?

I think growth, it's a really good question.

I was looking at some information earlier that I have on community engagement, having been involved in various formats of community that's not just about selling and services and products.

A lot of communities are educational.

But around about 90% of people lurk in communities, just generally, wherever they're based.

About 9% comment.

So you said

lurk.

So people lurking, meaning that they're just there, they're not engaging.

Yeah, now 90%.

That's a high figure.

And I would, having been part of all sorts of communities since the 90s, having run one for over 10 years, it's a completely different topic entirely.

But lurking, it's a given that it's going to happen.

But 90% is high.

Around 9% comment, and only 1% do actually create the most of it.

Now 1% create the most out of joining a community.

Now thinking how many communities there are on the World Wide Web now.

And you have

I mean, it's,

yeah,

yeah.

I mean, that kind of, I think maybe there's something about lowering our expectations about what community owners and moderators want from their community.

Maybe we need to lower our expectations a little bit, you know.

um just bearing in mind that actually lurking is one of the most common things i think the other thing that happens is many people create accounts and then it's it's a pain in the neck to go in and cancel it unsubscribe whatever so accounts are everywhere forgotten accounts are everywhere so i think that you know gives us a really good kind of Yeah, it gives us a bit of a reality check, to be honest.
