Adam WeymouthGuestChris WatsonHostI, I'd actually had, uh, a lady on, Erin Ranney, who's, does a lot of work for National Ge- Na- Nat Geo and BBC and, and stuff like that, a wildlife filmmaker, and we kinda touched on some of that impact that, that it's had 'cause her fam- her family are, I, I don't know how many generations, but they're fisher women and m- and men, and it is like on the salmon runs and the impact that's h- that's having in Bristol Bay in Alaska.
That is fascinating, and how much they're having to campaign to save certain rights and stuff like that.

What I didn't know until I came back from Alaska is that Scotland used to have the same history, right? That every, every village had, had wild salmon netsmen.

And, uh, there's an amazing photographer called Colin MacPherson who's sort of documented their demise over the last couple of decades.

And e- even on the Severn, wrote a piece about a guy on the River Severn in Bristol that was catching wild salmon until two or three years ago.

So, you know, we've, we've lost it almost entirely now, and Alaska is an emblem of what's left, but-
And even the, the apparently wild salmon farming that goes on industrial, in industrial scales and, and what that does to the actual, the native species and yeah, I mean, that's-
