Uh, "Death Takes a Holiday" first aired December 15, 1980, a Monday night on CBS, co-written and directed by Mike Farrell.

This is in MASH's ninth season, and by this point, a lot of the actors had taken their turns writing and/or directing episodes.

But I feel like you see that often with a show that runs as long as this one did with a closely-knit-

... cast that works well together, and it was just like, "Oh, let me try my hand on writing this one.

Let me try my hand on directing this one." Uh, and this, this turned out beautifully, of course.

This was the fourth of five episodes Mike Farrell directed, and he was nominated for both an Emmy and a Directors Guild Award for this one.
