I don't want you to just be, uh, uh, you know, blindly following people and, and call that loyalty, because we're gonna have an understanding.
We're gonna grow in the understanding of what loyalty actually is, and I want you to first understand where the root of this word even comes from.
And so loyal, and the etymology of it, 'cause I looked it up, duh, is from the Latin word meaning legalis.
Uh, but Legolas is actually connected to lex, which is law, and it is the idea of being lawful, true, faithful, and true to one's obligation.
And so, um, w- we're gonna get through, uh, Webster's Dictionary of what that word loyal means in a few moments, but that's one of the things I want you to understand with what loyalty actually looks like.
And so I'm not asking you to just blindly follow us like a cult leader would, and, and you disregard your common sense and you disregard truth, because we understand truth is found in one person, and his name is Jesus.
So I'm not asking you to disregard truth, I'm actually saying be aware of that truth and then be true to what you pledge to do.
I pledge to serve God all the days of my life, and I've remained loyal to that promise, and there's a lot of people that can't say that.
They're no longer here because times got tough and the luster of life just started to fade and things got difficult, and that's where, where, where the rubber meets the road, and it's like you have to decide, do you really wanna go to church when there's three feet of snow out there? You gotta make a decision.
