Gail Malaby, Hutchinson Zoo's Resource Development Coordinator, shares what to expect at the Haunted Zoo October 23-25. A production created by the Hutchinson High School Thespian Club with support…
So Haunted Zoo is a collaboration between the Hutchinson Friends of the Zoo and the Hutchinson High School Thespian Club.
It's a longstanding partnership that has been like a really fun thing for the community and for these students who are participating.
So what happens is the Thespian Club comes up with a script definitely a halloween themed script that they then kind of act out at the zoo sometimes it's on the train sometimes it's on zoo grounds this year it's going to be on zoo grounds and they will kind of have almost like a little spook walk it will be you know kind of some good spooky stuff i don't recommend it for young young kids because there will be some jump scares but we usually plan to have kind of a more family-friendly version early on, but it's still going to be kind of a fun little outing and experience for, I think,
It's three nights, so if you can't make it to one of the nights, we have it on Saturday.
So it's, you know, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 23rd, 24th and 25th of October.
And they start at 630 and we run sessions until I think the last one will probably go around 830 or 845.
And, you know, they'll kind of take little groups through the zoo and almost like a little guided tour.
this oh i'm sure they do no if we could get the animals to do exactly what we want that would be fun but no we always say we're on animal time so they get to decide they will be there so um it's really always a great opportunity when you come to our evening events to see these animals who are nocturnal because They sleep most of the time and you get a little sneak peeks of them during the daytime on your, you know, regular visits.
