Skeleton Crew Director Jon Watts to direct the first of 3 Simon Kinberg written SW triolgy films set after Ep 9!
John JusticeHost
We've known for a long time that Simon Kinberg, he was one of the main writers on Rebels, was a writer in the X-Men franchise, a bunch of movies that I very much enjoy.
And considering John Watts and his track record as of late of being the co-writer on Star Wars Skeleton Crew and also directing the first trilogy of Tom Holland Spider-Man films, this is a great group of individuals that they put together to potentially... create episodes 10, 11, and 12.
And I wanted to get the choices of the writer and director so far kind of out of the way as we dive into the details of what this story might entail and how I think the Star Wars Starfighter is actually a setup to what may transpire in this new Skywalker movie.
So like I said, we'll work off the article here from Bespin Bulletin with all the details, and then I'll share with you my speculation and why I believe this is the best move for Disney to go and make.
Now, Bespin Bulletin is a little cagey on whether or not This is actually going to happen.
And being a rumor mill website for Star Wars, that doesn't surprise me too much.
You know, they have to be careful in what it is that, you know, the stances and the editorial and the speculation that they give.
That being said, I am of the opinion this is going to happen when you have the Hollywood Reporter article.
And so this feels like a trial balloon to begin to get the public ready for a major announcement of this next trilogy of films.
under the leadership of Dave Filoni over at Lucasfilm, which is one of the big reasons why I'm excited as well.
Whether it's Rebels, whether it's Ahsoka, you can talk about the writing, that's fine.
You can talk about the directorial choices when it comes to Dave Filoni, whether or not he's a good director in live action versus his animation.
That being said, there is no denying that Dave Filoni and his storytelling skills and knowledge of the franchise and the mythology is... is above and beyond anybody next to George Lucas.
So as Bespin Bulletin lays out, according to The Hollywood Reporter, John Watts has joined on to direct the first of the new trilogy set in a galaxy far, far away.
