yeah
it's this is a weird movie and it starts out weird
well the fact that it's black and white in 1977 definitely a
choice like it there's a lot in this movie that is an homage to like silent films uh i get some like charlie chaplin vibes from it yes without any of the comedy
well a little uh oh god alfred hitchcock Okay, yeah, with some of the angles and the framing.
Yeah,
I could see
some of that.
It almost,
like, actually, the scene of him walking into the factory kind of reminded me of Metropolis a lot.
Yes,
definitely.
And, again, the way he walked, Charlie Chaplin.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
So
there's this guy who's filmed sideways, and he's transparent, and then there's, like, a big avocado or rock thing.
Some
kind of orb.
At first I thought it might be the moon, because there seems to be stars behind it.
Yeah, but
he's kind of like, he hovers up into the frame, then he hovers down into the frame.
And a lot of times, all you're seeing is his ear, and all I could think of, okay, so there was an ear in Blue Velvet, there's an ear here, has he got an ear thing, just like Tarantino has a foot thing? I don't know.
He has a thing, all right.
This guy looks super shocked and surprised, and it makes me wonder if it's because he agreed for this role.
